3 Peaks Challenge 2014

3 PEAKS CHALLENGE 2014: At the beginning of July 2014 some of the Jessup team got their boots on to complete the 3 peaks challenge: Climbing the 3 biggest mountains in Britain, starting with Mount Snowdon in Wales, then Scafell Pike in England and Scotland’s Ben Nevis, all in under 24 hours.

The challenge was completed successfully, and father & son team Peter and Luke Butler set personal best times for all 3 mountains, completing Snowdon in 2hrs 6mins, Scafell in 1hrs 57mins and Ben Nevis in just under 2hrs 53mins. Peter has previously completed the 3 peaks challenge several times.

First time 3-peaker Jack said afterwards ‘great experience, physically & mentally challenging, feeling of accomplishment once completed, if I were to do it again I would do more training in preparation to try and climb the mountains quicker than previous’.

The team experienced cloud and rain on Snowdon but then much warmer, sunnier conditions on the other mountains.

The trip was rounded off with a welcome night in Scotland before the long journey back home.
