(VIDEO) JESSUP COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
Award winning developers Jessup Build Develop are building Solihull Care Housing Association’s new extra care housing scheme for the elderly at Parkgate, off Haslucks Green Road in Shirley. As part of Jessup’s community initiative programme to benefit the neighbourhood around their building projects, the company have supplied and built six new raised beds for Blossomfield Infant School and Nursery, including filling them with top soil. The beds are now in full use growing different fruit and vegetables as part of the Food for Life programme.
Blossomfield Infant School and Nursery enrolled on this programme and are growing their own food; organising trips to farms; sourcing food from local bakers, butchers and farmers; setting up school farmers’ markets; holding community food events; providing cooking and growing clubs for pupils and their families; and serving freshly prepared, locally sourced meals that follow a rigorous Food for Life Catering Mark.
Clive Jessup, Chief Executive of Jessup Build Develop comments, “We are delighted to be able to help Blossomfield Infant School and Nursery with their Food for Life programme. It is particularly gratifying that young people can benefit from our work on Solihull Care Housing Association’s new elderly care scheme at Parkgate. Food for Life helps to be Fit for Life.”
Blossomfield Infant School and Nursery are extremely grateful to Clive Jessup and his team for their time, skill and generosity.
